Hi mate. This is my answer..
The plants were reliant to grow indigo because of the following reasons :
1.The planters were not having the sufficient fertile land for cultivating indigo. Also, for cultivating indigo there should be hectares of lands.
2. Workers. There were no sufficient workers for cultivating indigo. Large number of workers were needed as indigo was cultivated in large amount.
3.Inputs. The planters were suffering without bullocks. For cultivating indigo, nearly 2000 builds are required. But the builds were very busy in rice fields.
