Why were the rich peasants not ready to take part in the civil disobedience movement

The rich pleasant were not ready to take part in civil disobedience movement as this movement was also against the high taxes which small and poor farmers paid to the landlords. The rich peasants enjoy many things from this tax. Thus, they didn't join Civil disobedience movement.

the rich peasants were not ready to take part in the civil disobedience movement as because this movement was also against the high taxes which small and poors farmers pay to rich landlords .the rich people enjoyed this taxation from poor people and they don't want this taxation to be stoped...... thus they didn't took part in civil disobedience movement
