Women were given the voting right much later than men in most countries as they were not considered equal to men in terms of potential and productivity of money and it was believed that women should take care of children and do household work. This was not in India as majority of women took a lead role in the freedom struggle of India and that is the reason why females in India got their voting rights at the same time as men
