Why west bengal receives more rainfall than lucknow?
Answers
The South West Monsoon winds break into two parts - the Arabian sea branch of monsoon wind and the Bay of Bengal branch .
West Bengal is located closer to the sea and hence receives much of the South West Monsoon Wind's rainfall .
Lucknow is far from the sea .
The Bay of Bengal Branch of the South West Monsoon winds take more time to reach Lucknow and hence West Bengal receives much of the rainfall .
Then the Monsoon winds shed some rainfall and go to Lucknow which receives lower rainfall as little bit of rainfall is already shed by the Monsoon Winds .
This explains why West Bengal receives more rainfall .
West Bengal is present near to the sea Bay of Bengal and trench of Arabain sea. And Lucknow is a city which is too much from any sea or ocean. So, when the Clouds are formed by evaporation, then the clouds starts moving to the direction of wind. And, as west bengal is nearest to the Bay of Bengal the winds directly come towards the west bengal and due to it's location, west bengal creates a Cool environment in some times and hence West bengal receives more rainfall as compared to Lucknow.
And, Lucknow city's location is too much far from the Seas and Oceans and also the winds are not movies towards the Lucknow everytime.Mansoon winds of Lucknow sheds some rainfall in other regions and then come to Lucknow. Therefore, Lucknow gets less rainfall.
And hence, Lucknow receives low rainfall as compared to Bay of Bengal.
