When Glucose levels in the blood drop down a specific level, it means our energy levels are going down. This means in order to stay active, we need to eat more food. Hence in such a situation, the brain sends signals to us in order to remind us to eat something quickly so that our glucose levels can go up again and we remain active. If glucose levels drop below a certain point, we can faint and in some cases, if they fall for too long, we can die as well

When sugar levels fall, the body releases stress hormones like cortisol to counter it. This leads to certain symptoms: a sinking feeling, extreme hunger, palpitations, profuse sweating and dizziness.
