When you rub your hands together, the action of scraping the surface of your skin back and forth against each other causes the molecules in your skin to move a little faster. The faster that molecules move, the higher the temperature. So the friction of rubbing your hands together makes them feel warmer

When we rub our hands Friction is produced. Production of friction produces heat energy. This makes our hands warmer when we rub them against each other.

Fun fact: We cannot produce more than 9 deg Celsius of heat by rubbing our hands. That is, if original temp was 25 degrees then we can increase it only to 34 degree
