Answer: Silver chloride (AgCl) turns grey when exposed to sunlight, as photolytic decomposition, i.e., decomposition due to sunlight takes place and AgCl breaks into silver and chlorine gas
2AgCl→2Ag+Cl2
So, the newly formed silver gets accumulated on the vessel and we get a grey coating.
