why why does a Ray of light passing through a glass slab not show dispersion

Because the glass slab can be seen as two prisms. One prism refracts the light in seven colors and the other prism refracts it again to produce white light. Thus we can say that double refraction takes place in a glass slab and thus we cannot see dispersion of light.
