due to the process of osmosis.that is the flow of water from a region of higher water concentration to a region of lower water concentration when we wash clothes for a long time with hands so our fingers stop absorbing water due to higher concentration of water in fingers now the water flow towards the lower concentration that is why our fingers shrink
