It's because the current source of energy which we are using(fossil fuels) will at our current rate of consumption will exhaust in 50 to 100 years.In order to protect these fuels and protect our future we are looking for alternative sources of energy.

Since long time, we have been working dedicatedly on exploring the various sources of energy.
The reason behind is that each natural resource is scarce in availability, that would be subject to an end after a specific time period.
For which, it is always better to have some alternative ready and operational.
As we cannot afford to be without any kind of stable and trusted source for the major component of human life.
