why wick is not used in gaseous burners

A wick uses the principle of capillary action to move liquid fuel to the burning flame. Gases are not able to be wicked or move up the wick by the capillary action, hence they would notwork. The pressure used in gas burners is very effective on the other hand to deliver the gas to the flame
