why will each gamete contains only one set​

they are formed by the meiotic division.This division reduces the chromosome number to half.This is necessary as the two types of gametes fuse during sexual reproduction to form diploid zygote and thus maintaining chromosome number in the off-spring.

The gene controlling a particular trait separate from each other during gamete formation. Hence gamete is always pure as far as contrasting characters are considered and will posses only one gene set
