'en' is a prefix also. In the word encode en is a prefix. But in the word envelope, en is not a prefix.
As a prefix 'en' menas- to put into the thing or condition mentioned.

Example- endanger means to put into the category of danger. Enlarge means make larger.

reddi625sahu: y to put again into that condition it's any way in dt category right
reddi625sahu: plz explain me clearly
Anonymous: There is nothing complicated about prefixes and suffixes. The use prefix or suffix firms a new world with a different meaning. Sometime increasing the strength of the word and can also firm its opposite meaning. Ex- happy and unhappy. It is matter of usage.
