France became a constitutional monarchy in 1719. According to the postulates and rules laid down by the constitution of France in 1719, women were considered to be passive citizens. All men were considered to be equal. But women were treated a bit inferiorly. They did not get the right to vote and they were also not allowed to hold office in the political scenario.despite taking part in the revolution , their status did not improve. Hence they were disappointed.
