Why working tables and shelves in the chemistry laboratory are covered with tilesa nd not wood or metals?

Hey...

It's becoz in labs we use chemicals...acids etc....that may react with those.....by corrosion....

so that we don't cover those sheves with wood or metals...

Tilesa is used as

● First of all wood easily catches fire so it isn't used in laboratory there is use of hazardous chemicals and use of wood may multiply chances of fire.

● And metals aren't so cheap so they are not considered to be used they also get rusted after a period of time.

So being cheap and durable TILESA is used....
