stomata would be blocked and hence no respiration would occur

leaves are important parts of the plant which are responsible for synthesizing food for the plant.

tiny pores called stomata are present on the under surface of the leaves which helps in the exchange of gases for synthesis of food and plant respiration.

hence, if both sides of the leaves are covered with oil, i will

(a)stop the sunlight from reaching the leaf and hence it will not be able to synthesize food.

(b)exchange of gases will not take place and it will turn yellow and die.
