Why would you not like to use a measuring tape made of an elastic material like
rubber to measure distance? What would be some of the problems you would
meet in telling someone about a distance you measured with such a tape?

Answer: We cannot use an elastic measuring tape to measure distances as it does not have a fixed length. Elastic tape can be streched and does not show correct readings. The stretched length is not constant and varies with the applied force to stretch the elastic tape.
