Why would you not like to use a measuring tape made of an elastic material like rubber to measure distance? What would be some of the problems you would meet in telling someone about a distance you measured with such a tape?

no we cannot use elastic material like rubber because it can be stretched and it would not give u accurate measurement
same is with steel
it can increase or decrease
so we use measuring tapes made of plastic or some other non elastic materials
