why would you not like to use a measuring tape made up of elastic material like rubber to measure distance? What would be some of the problems you would meet in telling someone about a distance you measured in such a tape.

Answer:

rubber has a special property of elasticity. which enables it to increase or decrease its size on applying force. so it cannot tell the measurement correctly as when used by different person of different strength, one can apply force greater than the other this will give error in the reading.
