why wurtz reaction cant prepare pure alkanes with odd number of carbon atom????????....a proper answer thanks ^^^

Hey!!
Wurtz reaction cannot be used for the preparation of alkanes of odd number corbon. Because alkanes which are produced in the reaction have a double number of corbon atom to the alkyl halide taken.
