As xylitol is metabolised slowly by the body, it doesn't cause the 'sugar spike' that may be experienced with other sugar products, leading to a subsequent drop in blood sugar and a craving for more sweetness. Unlike artificial sweeteners, xylitol has no bitter aftertaste and may actually promote oral and aural health.

Answer:

just left an aftertaste in my mouth and a craving for sugar. While it isn't as fine as sugar, it is equal to sugar. You can measure it exactly like sugar, no need for conversion charts and it does not have a bad taste or aftertaste. It tastes like sugar in everything I've used it in/on.
