• President Mugabe is famous but he is still using biassed voting practises. Over the years, politicians have repeatedly changed (amended) the Constitution in order to broaden the authority of the President and reduce his responsibility. Staff are being threatened and meetings are disrupted in the opposition party.
• People's protests and assaults on politicians are deemed unconstitutional. The right to oppose the president is restricted by law. After Zimbabwe 's 2017 attack ZANU-PF agreed instead to topple the leader of Robert Mugaba and set up the outlawed leader, Emmerson Mnangagwa. TV and radio are owned by the govt & represented by the ruling party. He was Mugabe's 'top enforcer' until November 2017, playing a central role in the collapse of the rule of law & the economic crisis of Zimbabwe. And he played a big part in the massive human rights abuses that dominated the reign of Zanu-PF.
• He had a more conciliatory language than his actions. He named political hardliners, acolytes & veterans of war in his cabinet after being elected president. Those decisions seemed to affirm the new Zanu-PF group 's strength.
