Why zncl2 is not used in tertiary alcohols as catalyst?

While tertiary alcohols undergo the reaction much more faster (Just shaking ... Zinc chloride (ZnCl2) act as a catalyst for this reaction.

Because 3° alcohols or tertiary alcohols react very fast with lucas test therefore there is no need of zncl2 as it gives instant white terbidity.
