Internal Fertilization. In mammals, reptiles, birds, and some types of fish the gametes meet inside of the female's body. This is called internal fertilization. All land dwellers need to fertilize this way because sperm still prefer swimming to walking.

In External fertilization, both male and female organism will release their gametes (sperms and eggs) and just regret it. The regretted sperms and eggs fuse together to form an embryo when the sperms particles of male organism reach the eggs.

Usually, this type of fertilization doesn't need any parental care where the environment in which the egg present will provide the care.

Most of the aquatic animals reproduce through the external fertilization like cord, trout, salmon, and amphibians like frog also follow the external fertilization sometimes.
