This scheme was started from Delhi state. Then it extended all over the states in India. It was first started on 1995.

There are different types of schemes are there like - Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme (IGNOAPS), Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme (IGNDPS), Annapurna Scheme, National Family Benefit Scheme (NFBS)
