Wildlife conservation efforts in India

o Why Wildlife Conservation is important?

Uses of Wild animals:

  • Used as Medicines
  • Used as pets (in some rich houses)
  • Used to make clothes
  • Used as food

To stop these all we need wildlife conservation.

• Threats to Wildlife:

  • Pollution
  • Disaster
  • Overpopulation
  • Change in Climate
  • Poaching

Due to these threats, we need Wildlife Santuries.

There are two types of Wildlife Conservation:

In-situ Conservation:

In this, the species remain in the natural habitat and the place is protected through protecting the whole ecosystem of the place so that no any outsider can enter that area and hunt any animal.

For example:

Wildlife Santuries

Ex-Situ Conservation:

In this, the Wild animals are taken from their natural habitat and transferred to a new place.

For example:

The Zoo

Efforts made by government of India for wildlife conservation:

  • Project Tiger
  • Project Elephant
  • Sea Turtle project
  • Crocodile Conservation Project
  • Dolphin Project
