An area which is strictly reserved for the protection of animal is called wildlife sanctuary.

The wildlife century also provide suitable living condition to the wild animals. In a sanctuary, killing or capturing of animals is strictly prohibited. But biosphere reserve is much larger than the any other national park or sanctuary .

In any sanctuary, the following activities are allowed, provided these do not interfere with the well-being of the animals.

* Harvesting of timber.

* Collection of miner forest products.

  • A boundary wall / barrier is in place to ensure that humans cannot enter the area. The animals get the feel of nature surrounding.
