when everyone has responsibility, nobody has responsibility

Both stateless anarchy and stateless communism sound good in theory, but are against human nature, resulting in high levels of chaos that actually make most people unhappy. People want some order and structure in society, so they can focus on higher level needs, and in modern society this is provided by the state. Although anarchy is the most moral system since it relies on the non-aggression principle, and communism has some decent arguments that it is moral too, the majority of people are happy to give up some freedom for security provided by a state (social contract).
