As a gas giant, Jupiter doesn't have a true surface. The planet is mostly swirling gases and liquids. While a spacecraft would have nowhere to land on Jupiter, it wouldn't be able to fly through unscathed either.

Not all of these gases are poisonous. Most of Earth's atmosphere is nitrogen, and there is a little helium too. There is no oxygen on Jupiter like there is on Earth. The plants on Earth have made the oxygen that we breathe.
