Thus , it may not be wrong to say that 'older'('primitive'or'lower' ) organisms are simpler, while 'younger " ('advanced' or ' higher ) organisms are more complex .

Complex organisms are developed by adopting certain changes in themselves they are complex than primitive organisms. The advanced organisms are those who have already developed changes in them due to evolution.

The change and complexity increases with time and hence results in a more complex and developed advanced organisms just as in case of evolution  

Thus there is a possibility that the advanced organisms will be similar to complex organisms if not the same.
