no because it is volatile in nature so instead of that we H2SO4 because it is ionic in nature like 2H2O ionic bond in which hydrogen has affinity for protons and oxygen has affinity for electrons so small polarity is developed between them no as you go for electrolysis in aqus state by passing electricity to electrode and pouring some H2SO4 acid the water conducts electricity and it start ionise it self and water in process of ionisation but we cannot use HCL.
