I don't think so.
It may be something new for you but for me as a teacher, this is an every year process. Every year these rumours are spreaded amongst the students to create the panic. Though I don't deny the fact that there is a little change in the exam pattern, that isn't going to affect much. This year there will be two types of paper i.e.
Basic Maths: For the students who don’t wanna pursue maths in future. For such students, the paper will be slightly easier.
Standard Maths: For such students who wanna pursue Maths in future. The exam paper will test the student's skills to analyze the problem but it is not going to be a super hard i.e. you will get problems based on the concepts and not on the engineering pattern. However, students who will be taking the standard exam needs to be clear with the concepts else, you may find it a bit difficult.
However, I believe that there is nothing easy or difficult. If a student is clear with the CONCEPTS and knows how to solve the questions then he/she may find it easy. On the other hand, if you're not clear with the question types and their concepts then you will certainly find it hard even though it is an easy one.
So, I would suggest you, the same thing as I always say, Be Clear with the Concepts. This will help you a lot not only in your exam but in future as well.
