it is clear that Resistance of a piece of wire is inversely related to its cross sectional area, A.

And assuming that the two wires have same length and being of the same material the same resistivity (rho).

The thicker wire will have lesser resistance and vice versa.

And conversely, the thicker wire will not allow current to flow in it, with as much ease as the thinner wire will.
