Yes Hana helped the wounded man and washed him herself. She was somewhere attached to him through a string of humanity that encourages her to help the wounded soldier even if he was a prisoner of war . The love for humanity is far more grat than that of being patriot .Though the servant were trying to be patriot but they actually had a hidden menial feeling of being scared for their own welfare rather than serving for the country.On the other hand Dr Sadao and his wife showed due respect to both the feelings.
