Answer:

● The wheel has almost come full circle. There was a time when India was known as a Vishwa Guru – a world leader that many envied. Remember the sobriquet “Sone Ki Chidiya?’ Well, India earned it with wealth and blessings abound. Today, India is striding to get its lost status back.

● Very rarely, you will come across information that reveals the strength India had in the ancient times. Back in the 17th century, India, a key player in the world economy, was a leading exporter of spices, sugar, textiles, handicrafts, and much more. It was also one of the first countries to adopt a money-based trade.

● For those surprised at the reassuring dominance India once had, it’s worth noting that there was a time when India’s share in world trade was about 24.5% – at par with the share of the entire European continent. Imagine the power India was!

● No wonder why many invaded us with the desire to rule the Vishwa Guru. There’s this thing about humans. We want to beat the unbeatable to evince our might. We fail to realise that our real strength lies in building others, not burying them.

● But India wasn’t like any other nation. We never invaded anyone. In fact, despite of so many invasions and blows to our country, our glory didn’t die. It faded, for sure. But it’s still there.

● Now, the time has come to recapture our fading glory. Now is the time to re-emerge as a Vishwa Guru that India once was.

And we have the “Chinese Virus” to thank for this.

● No, not Coronavirus or COVID-19, as many would call it. It’s “Chinese Virus”. Just like the Spanish Flu, Japanese Encephalitis and Indian Cholera. Xenophobia didn’t get in the way of the international media from labelling different viruses based on their countries of origin. It shouldn’t thwart the media now.
