Will induced emf be produced in a Wire kept in north-south direction allowed to fall freely? Why?Answer the Given question in brief.

No, because no lines of magnetic flux of earth are being intercepted by means of the wire.


The wire is considered to be parallel to the field.


In order to induce a maximum current, it must be dropped in the direction of east-west.


Recall the strength of induced current which is proportional to the cosine of the angle between the wire & north-south direction of the magnetic field.

NO , there will be no any potential difference created when wire in north south direction freely falls down on ground
