no it not will be beneficial for Britishers to introduce modern farming instead of burdening the farmers in indigo cultivation to give more revenue. The soil of India is very fertile. In this soil indigo grows very well and they had not to spend any capital on it. They just burdened the farmers and they did not give any money to the burdened farmers. The quality of indigo grown in India was very well. This resulted high selling. So they got more revenue. If they introduced modern farming methods they had to spend capital on it. So their revenue would not be more than that.
