will the angular momentum of a planet be conserved?? justify your answer

If it is not conserved, then the sum of the orbital and spin angular momentum must be a conserved quantity (if this angular momentum is not, say, transferred to the Sun or other solar bodies). This means that at different r-positions, the spin of a planet about its own axis must vary.
