No momentum is conserved only if their is no external force acting on it
you can conserve momentum in the direction where external force is not acting
you can conserve momentum in the direction where external force is not acting

no the momentum will change if some external force acts on the system as example - if a ball is moving and there is some external force so the ball will not keep moving it will stop at a point.hope it helps plz mark my answer brainlist answer
