Will the weight of 1 kg of iron and 1 kg of cotton be the same in air? Explain.​

density of cotton is less than Iron so it would have more volume. So, 1 kg cotton will displacement more Air particles than Iron. These Air particle will exert an upward force.

1 kg of cotton will occupy more space than 1 kg iron, and hence displace more volume of air. And since upthrust is directly proportional to volume of fluid displaced, cotton will experience more upthrust than iron.
