will we have a tooth decay when the pH of our mouth is too basic? I mean , if it happens when it can happen when it is too acidic , can the vice versa happen.​

  • If the pH inside the mouth decreases below 5.5 the decay of tooth enamel begins.

  • The bacteria present in the mouth degrades the sugar and leftover food particles and produce acids that remains in the mouth after eating.

  • The best way to prevent this is to clean the mouth after eating food.

  • To prevent tooth decay, toothpastes are used which neutralize the excess acid.
