Obviously winning is not what matters participating is much more important.

I can say that participating is winning. Because even though you didn't win any particular competition in which you have participated, you personally win your own competition by doing something new and exploring yourself.

By participating, you get to know yourself better, you get to know your abilities and disabilities and also you get to know how you should improve, where you need to focus, what area is there in which you can and must improve.

So, winning is not as important as participating and competing with ourselves and be a winner in our life.
