Winning wars is important for a ruler to become great because -

1. He is a winner.

2. His power increases as he overpowers many rulers.

3. It helps to extend his territory. The size of his kingdom increases.

4. He has more resources at his disposal. He gets a bigger amount of revenue.

5. He owns a larger army and ammunitions to protect his kingdom and expand his rule.

Winning wars is not important for a ruler to become great. There are other aspects which help a ruler to become great -

1. He should administer his kingdom well.

2. He should work for the welfare of his subjects.

3. He should be just.

4. He should make the kingdom economically prosperous and develop trade.

5. He should provide protection to his subjects from all sorts of evils.
