a)If the end are not connected to each other then resistance will remain same

but if they are joint together and we measure across diameter of circle then it will act like two 2 ohms resistors are connected in parallel

Therefore resistance will be

1/R=1/r1+1/r2

i/R=1/2+1/2

R= 1 ohms
