Acceleration is the rate of change in velocity with time..it is a vector quantity as it is difference of final and initial velocity per unit time
example..when we drive a car on a highway then the car is said to be accelerating because it's velocity is increasing..a still car or a car at rest has no acceleration because it's velocity is 0 or same throughout time
