=> Let the labourer worked for x days.

=> Total days he was assigned for =20 days

=> So he was absent for = (20 - x) days.

Now..

Having worked for 1 day he get Rs 60

Having worked for x days he get Rs 60x

Being absent for a day costs Rs 5

Being absent for (20-x)days costs Rs5(20-x)

=>He earned = Rs 745

So,

$= > \it \blue{ 60x - 5(20 - x)} = \blue{745} \\ \\ = > \it \blue{60x - 100 + 5x } = \blue{745} \\ \\ = > \it \: \blue{65x} = \blue{745 + 100} = \blue{845} \\ \\ = > \boxed{ \bf x = \blue{\frac{845}{65} }= \underline{\green{13 }}}$

Thus he was present for $\bf \underline{\orange{13 \: days}}$

He was absent for (20-13) = $\bf \underline{\orange{7 \: days}} .$
