we know that
 \sin( \alpha )  = opposite \: side   \div hypotenuse \: side
but given
 \sin( \alpha )  = a \div b
so adjacent side =
 \sqrt{ {b}^{2} -  {a}^{2}  }
now
 \cos( \alpha )  =  \sqrt{ {b}^{2}  -  {a}^{2} }  \div b
and
 \tan( \alpha )  = a \div  \sqrt{ {b}^{2}  -  {a}^{2} }
