With help of atomic number how could you say the material is having properties of conductor or insulator?

through atomic number, we can find out the no. valence electrons in the atom of the element . if the no. of valence electrons is 1,2,3 then the element is metal which are usually conductors . if the number of valence electrons is 5,6,7 then it is a non metal which are usually insulators. if the number of valence electrons is 4 then it is a metalloid hence is a semi conductor. hope it helps
