ANSWER:

The evolution, application of regionalization:

Regionalisation is the method of dividing an area into smaller segments termed as regions such as division of a nation into states.

EXPLANATION:

Regionalisation is the process of forming decentralised regions. In geography, it has 2 ways: the process of demarcating the Earth, its smaller units or areas into regions and a state of such a demarcation.

The utilisation of the concept of regionalisation initiated from Marxist tradition to emphasise the immaterial and material aspects which underlie the regions’ formation in the present globalisation period. Regions share common features, and these features comprise landforms, economy, climate, people, or vegetation.

Geographers create regions centred on the information they wish to study about. For instance, if geographers want to study about a state, they will segment it into regions. They may look at the state's industry or agriculture. Another instance, the trees or vegetation, or grass in a state can differ. One part of the state could have grass and flat land and the other part can have thick forests.

Geographers could segment the state into regions on the basis of its vegetation. Regions can be created on the basis of culture and language. The Caribbean Islands or West Indies are a region. They are located between South and North America.

In this region there is a mix of languages such as English, French, Spanish, and Dutch including regional dialects. Geographers can study the culture sand languages of the people in the Caribbean Islands. They can also study about the history of these islands and in what way people live nowadays.
