Agenda 21 is a global action plan for sustainable development .

It is a non-binding action plan to achieve sustainable growth which was adopted by various Government of the world at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Since it was non binding in nature,it was not under the obligation of international law but more of a moral obligation  amongst the nation for implementing the strategy decided by them .

The main objective of this agenda was to protect the environment as well as sustaining economic growth.
